Do Not Compare Yourself With Others

While others feel they are too fat, someone else may be feeling underweight. While others wanted to be white-skinned, some would go to the beach just to get that tan. While others wanted a long straight hair, some would want to have their hair curled up. At some point in our lives, we have insecurities about our bodies. Society today expects a perfect-looking human being – flawless like what we see in televisions and movies. Young teens nowadays tend to idolize skinny models and seemingly perfect-skinned actors and actresses. They even follow endlessly to pretty and handsome influencers that they see in their social media accounts. It’s not surprising that many adults and teens nowadays feel insecure about their bodies.

To some overcoming insecurities means going under a knife. But we should learn to love our bodies and accept who we are. Easier said than done! Just when you’re about accepting and adjusting everything, life throws some stones and puts along your way some obstacles. Learning to love your body begins by letting go of those ideals society sets before your eyes.

Take some actions now, not tomorrow but now! You can’t go through life hating yourself and dreaming of that perfect face and body.  Avoid aiming for an outcome that is unrealistic and unattainable. Do not lock yourself in a closet spurred by society. As they say ‘do not compare yourself with others’. You are uniquely designed to be who you are and what you look like. Be the best of who you can be. Improve yourself to become a better you without being motivated to please anyone. Try to overcome those insecurities and love yourself as much as you can.
