Ever tried looking at the pockets of your old clothes and finding a wrapper for a favorite bubblegum still inside the pocket? Deformed but still intact, your Tarzan bubblegum wrapper reminds you of the time where only skinned knees hurt not hearts.
Sentiments aside, one should also be alarmed how such a thing from 12 years is still here today, no signs of it slowly disintegrating. Plastic is used for shampoos, food wrappers, and many more. Videos and pictures are popping everywhere containing animals who died after eating only trash bags that looked like jellyfish, dolphins strangled by a straw floating in the ocean, and mass death of fishes in polluted waters. It is not even safe anymore to eat just any kind of fish because that fish may have consumed plastic or toxic materials that are bad for humans. The people who sold their lands for industrial development are getting rich, but the question is, can we eat money? When will we human beings collectively make a move to reduce plastic use or have it recycled to lessen plastic production?
Instead of ranting on companies producing plastic packaging, why don’t you make a move by going outside and invest time and effort in making a small garden? You cannot change others, but you can change yourself.
