Our education is leading us to the fountain of knowledge, but it seemed to be useless. Here’s the reason why.

A master’s degree is almost equivalent to ticket towards a successful career. Education is so important because it equipped us with the knowledge and skills we needed to face the fierce competition in the employment world. However, there seemed to be lacking somewhere. Many successful personalities nowadays didn’t earn their master’s degree, not even a college diploma. Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates both dropped out of the same university yet both excelled in their fields and became one of the biggest names in the industry today. What do they have that they outperformed their Doctor Degreed counterparts?

Their education was excellent. They learned things because they love what they were doing and not just because it is what the professor wanted them to do. In one of the articles online, Young Bill Gates used to skip his classes and opted to use the school’s computers more often. Mark Zuckerberg made a sort of beta version of his now giant social media site, which was then shut down by the university because it had caused trouble in the schools network switches. What do they have in common? They have the passion and the love of what they do and they knew what people wanted and they created something functional out of it.

This is something that our education system must start incorporating into our study programs. To be creative and develop the passion out of what we are doing. You can’t teach a horse how to swim and a fish how to run. Different students have different strengths and weaknesses, let’s harness that strength and encourage them to create something unique. Make our education system an effective one and start amending the ineffective things and enhancing the useful ones, so that our future generations will be able to survive and compete with the rising usage of artificial intelligence in our work environment.
