Fish is a great source of protein which can help maintain or build muscle mass and support our immune function. The fish that contains the highest amount of protein is the Tuna. The USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference, Release 23 states that among tuna species, the Bluefin tuna has the highest protein content at 29.91g of protein per 100g (3oz) of dry-cooked fish, while the Yellowfin tuna contains 29.15g.

Tuna contains vitamins and minerals which are the essential nutrients that our body needs to function to its maximum potential. It is rich in vitamin B12 and B6 that is important for brain development and function, and the production of our red blood cells. Both vitamin B12 and B6 are water-soluble vitamins which can be dissolved in water and travel through the bloodstream; this is the reason why it is not good to overcook your tuna. 

Vitamin A can also be found in tuna which is needed for the proper development and functioning of our eyes, immune system, skin, and other body parts. It is also known to increase men's sperm count.

One of the most known health benefits of tuna is Omega-3 fatty acids. The American Heart Association states that more omega-3 intake means lower risk of cardiovascular diseases. It also lowers your serum triglycerides.
