This is a good way to trick your kids with a meat looking dish they will love. My nephew does not eat vegetables at all. He asks me why I love to be a vegetarian. I answered back about our past life with his father who happens to be my brother. We are forced to eat veggies because that's the only food our parents could provide. But now his son can't eat without meat. So we're worried about the danger of too many proteins comes from white meat. I don't mind if it was a fish, but he doesn't like it either.
One is made from the banana blossom and the other one is made from meat and carrots. I'll just have the one I love the most.
Banana Blossom Balls
Ingredients:
2 pieces of banana bud which is good for five servings. Made up to 50 ball
2 Cups of Flour
2 teaspoon of black pepper
1 teaspoon salt ( as desired taste)
A pinch of Magic Sarap to enhance the taste
4 Eggs
5 Cloves of Garlic ( OMG I love garlic!)
2 Pieces Onions
Procedure:
Do it in a separate preparations.
First Preparation
- Wash the bud, remove all unnecessary layers of the bud. Slice in four halves. That makes it eight of those four slices.
- Bring water to boil and submerge the bud completely, add some salt. Boil until cooked.
- Chopped into small pieces, use a cloth to squeeze and remove excess water.
Second Preparation
- Mince garlic and onion, finely chopped.
- Beat the eggs into a separate bowl.
- Mix it all together in a huge bowl with the cooked banana blossom, beaten eggs, salt and pepper, minced garlic and onions.
- Prepare the flour, and start rolling those balls for coating.
Third Preparation
1. Prepare your pan, if you have a deep casserole, you can use that for frying.
2. Heat the pan with an oil. Frying is the scariest part for me. I didn't like it, but the fact I love eating, so I need to cook.
3. Soak about 5 to eight banana balls into the heated oil, make sure you created a small size so to make sure it's all cooked from the inside.
4. Cook by batch.
Now it’s ready to serve. Enjoy!
