Because of this eagerness to earn, most people would fall for get-rich-quick scheme, also known as “easy money” scheme. This scheme creates an impression that one can obtain a high return rate with very little skill, little effort, and little to none risk. These schemes often emphasize about wealth being obtained even working at home, which sounds too good to be true.
Get-rich-quick schemes come in many forms. Some of the most popular include:
· Pyramid schemes that pretends as legitimate investments or marketing opportunities but offer no real value
· Online affiliate marketing scams that promise large incomes for just a few hours of work per week
· Survey scams that promise rewards or income for online survey taking
It is understandable why many people would fall for such scheme because of the “easy fortune” one can make. However, one should be mindful of the dangers, such as heavy financial lost, associated to this type of so called “investment”.
How to Spot a Get-Rich-Scam
Spotting these scams is harder than it seems. A lot may sound reasonable that you would not think it as a scam. Also, you even if you already felt that it is a “red flag” investment, you still go for it because you want to believe its not. However, you should know it instantly that a company might be a get-rich-quick scammer because of the following:
· When a company does not have actual product or services to sell.
· You are asked to shell out money for as joining fees without any product in exchange.
· When they ask you to recruit, not selling as the only means to get profit.
· When you get too good to be true bonuses such as sign in and sign out bonus.
· When they tell you that they are not scammers.
· Sounds so good to be true.
When considering to enter investments or business opportunities, make sure to check first company background and do a lot of research. Do not let greed and the promise of easy money lure you. It is better to invest into something slow and sure than anything fast and easy yet deceives people.
