Family meals are a wonderful opportunity to sit and have an open communication with the people we love the most. Cooking has been my longtime love. Life is undoubtedly busy and yet there is something that draws me back to cooking in our kitchen for my family. I had greatly enjoyed cooking some basic dishes and do it on a certain budget.
It is enjoying what I prepare for them. These are the things I am grateful for when cooking our food;
1. There’s a certain sense of love and glow that surrounds a homemade meal than those of fast food restaurants.
2. It makes me happy knowing that my family loves what I really am a crash course on cooking on a budget! I struggled with fitting everything in on my budget and often cancel some items off my list once at the store. But I find it relaxing and beautiful thing to serve a hearty dish to my family. There is nothing like putting dinner on the table knowing that you’ve done your best to make a healthy and delicious dinner for your family. It may not be very refined but it’s worth it.
3. Creating memories with the family honed into nourishing food.
4. I get to show my love for them by cooking their favorite dishes.
My love for cooking carried me through feeding my husband and expanded to include my child. My heart brimmed up with so much happiness as I watched them both prepare for them.
Cooking boosts my confidence and self-esteem. It is one of those tasks which requires focus and extremely therapeutic. It is more than a hobby and less than something professional. I adore looking myself into rituals of chopping, stirring and tasting. Taking time to cook for the family is more than a routine task, it’s about building bonds and making memories, most of all its an act of love.
