Every now and then we meet someone who transcends all consciousness. You see them walking by you on the street, and you all of the sudden feel like you’re dreaming. These moments are rare, but when they happen it’s always something special. Meet Angelica Kenova, the girl who has been called “Human Barbie” her entire life. If you saw her on the street, you would certainly fall into the very dreamlike state we just mentioned. Of course, chances are you probably won’t see Angelica on the street – and this is because of her parents.

One of the most iconic dolls of all the time is the Barbie doll, and for good reason.

With her long blonde hair, perfect waistline, and blue eyes, you could see why young girls would enjoy playing with the doll. However, some people have said over the years that it sets unrealistic expectations for female bodies. But there was one girl who didn’t agree. There was one girl, named the “human Barbie,” who was dubbed so beautiful that her parents actually didn’t even let her outside…

Who is she?

But who is this girl that we speak of? How did she come to look like a human Barbie?

And why isn’t she allowed outside of her house? Moscow native Angelica Kenova is the girl of the hour and even though she doesn’t get out too much, that doesn’t mean the world hasn’t learned a thing or two about her. People far and wide have been talking about this young lady, and how she bears such a striking resemblance to the beautiful plastic doll.

Growing up

Indeed, there is a reason that Angelica is so famous, and it’s not because she’s traveling the world.

It’s because she’s absolutely killing it on Instagram, with over 125,000 followers! At the mere age of 29, this is a pretty impressive accomplishment. It all started back in the 1980s, when her parents, Natalia and Evgeniy, got married – and subsequently gave birth to their stunning young child. It seemed that their daughter had inherited her mother’s looks…

Her beautiful daughter

Natalia was actually compared to the well known French actress Brigitte Bardot when she was young, and she was excited to see that her daughter had inherited her stunning beauty!

She could see that her daughter had the potential to be a human Barbie doll, due to her silvery blonde locks, her doll-like features, and her slender frame. As a result, Natalia began controlling many aspects of Angelica’s life, intent on making her look irresistible.

Treating her like a princess

For those people who question their parenting techniques, Natalia and her husband maintain that always wanted what’s best 

They treated her like a princess from day one, sending her to the fanciest Russian schools, giving her the coolest toys, and basically giving her whatever she wanted. But when Angelica turned six, things started getting pretty weird. Even though she was incredibly young, it seemed like she wanted to grow up sooner rather than later.

Replicating the Barbies

Due to the fact that Natalia’s beautiful looks had gotten her pretty far in life, she was bent on making sure that Angelica receives the same treatment.

When she turned six, Natalia would buy her countless Barbie dolls, showing her daughter how beautiful girls are supposed to look. Eventually, Natalia started staring at the different outfits that her daughter’s Barbies were wearing, and decided to buy these same outfits for Angelica, so that her daughter could look as perfect as barbie

Pride in her looks

In addition to buying Angelica the same type of clothing that her Barbie dolls were wearing, Natalia allegedly encouraged her daughter to pride herself on how she looked.

Angelica became immersed in a lifestyle that included wearing tight outfits, walking in front of the mirror and looking pretty, especially because she knew it made her parents happy. Angelica’s mission to live up to her parents’ expectations led to people beginning to call her the “Russian 

Staying in shape

As Angelica got older, she began to look more and more like the Barbie dolls that lay perched on her shelves.

But her parents didn’t feel that it was enough. They knew that in order to really achieve perfection, she had to maintain her figure. So they hired a personal trainer to work out consistently with Angelica, to make sure that every part of her body looked to perfection. As of today, Angelica weighs only 91 pounds, and has a 20-inch waist.

Frequent workouts

When we say that Angelica starting working out, we don’t just mean a few days a week.

We mean that her personal trainer was hired to push her in the gym five days a week, two to three hours each time. Angelica knows better than anyone that the work she’s put in has been crucial to maintaining the way she looks now. In order to live up to the unnatural plastic standards of a Barbie doll, one must put in the sweat day in and day out.

Dieting habits

Her trainer doesn’t just help her out with the exercise element of it all – he also helps her out with her dieting happens.

Angelica maintains that her nutritional routine has helped considerably toward her physique, but she refuses to reveal what it is: “It’s a secret,” she says. As a result, people have wondered if she’s ever gotten plastic surgery. Angelica has denied these claims, maintaining that she’s all natural, and that it’s all thanks to her hard work.

Secret advice

There is another piece of advice that Angelica has happily divulged to her fans – and it’s actually a lot more simple than you’d think.

She has said that one of the reasons she looks the way she does is because she smiles a lot. Her belief that smiling makes one more beautiful certainly has its merits. As you can see here, her smile emanates a radiant glow that immediately makes her look more appealing. Did she learn that from her Barbies too?

Watchful eyes of her parents

But as we know, Angelica beauty, as well as her fame, has not come without a price. Every single thing she’s done in her life has been decided by her parents.

They told her the clothes she needed to wear. They hired the personal trainer for her. They told her she couldn’t leave the house without their permission. They say it’s because they wanted to protect her, but one can’t help but wonder if they took things too far.

It’s natural for Natalia to be choosing her daughter’s clothing when she’s a little girl – but after Angelica reached a certain age, you might think that things would’ve changed a little.

But things didn’t change at all. In fact, they got even more intense. Even in her older years, Natalia dictates what she wears at all times, choosing clothes that clings to her figure and emphasizes her good features, according to Angelica. And she is still not allowed to move out of the house.

But what does Angelica say about all of this, and how does she feel about it? It turns out that she actually has some pretty wild dreams, the kinds that may 

She has said that she one day wishes to move to the states, become a Playboy bunny, and thereby live in the Playboy mansion. She doesn’t act on pursuing these dreams because she doesn’t want to upset her parents. Angelica only wants to keep them happy.

It seems that although they don’t let their daughter move out, or leave the house without permission, they clearly allow her to leave when it comes to photoshoots. In fact, it turns out that Angelica’s parents are the ones behind her raunchy photoshoots. They completely support it, and they are “proud” of their daughter showing off her body in lingerie attire. But they have some other restrictions that are even harsher than you’d expect.

Meeting her Ken

Although we know that the real Barbie has her Ken, Angelica has yet to get married.

She hopes to one day meet her Prince Charming, but it turns out that this part of her life is also micro managed by her parents. Get this: whenever Angelica is asked to go out on a date, she isn’t allowed to go out with them privately. She is forced to book a table for three, and her mother allegedly has to be present throughout the meal. Yikes.

Still looking for a man

Indeed, all of these restrictions that Natalia has placed over Angelica’s dating career has certainly made it hard for her to find Mr. Right – which is crazy because there are tons of men who would be ecstatic to date 

In fact, Angelica has actually never had herself a “real boyfriend.” She said that all the boys she knows are “just friends unfortunately.” She’s still on the lookout for her man, but will her parents ever loosen the reins a 

Her ideal husband

But even though her parents’ rules have made her hard for her to find someone right, she is optimistic about finding the right 

She knows that somewhere out there is a “prince” who will look after her, the “princess,” one day. Regarding what kind of guys she likes, she doesn’t like “cute boys.” She likes strong men who are passionate about what they do, and don’t care as much about how they look in the mirror.

Sparing her parents’ feelings

There are clearly a lot of good things going on in Angelica’s life, but let’s be real: there are also some issue that need to be addressed.

She has already maintained that she has dreams that extend beyond Russia – and that in theory, she would like to pursue them. But she loves her parents way too much to break the status quo. She doesn’t want to “rock the boat,” as they say, not when she knows how happy her parents are with her home.

Strange contradictions

Perhaps the strangest thing about this scenario is that her parents aren’t too keen on letting her leave, and yet they have no problem exposing her as a model through pictures 

They have no problem with her being a social media star, and they realize that it’s a big part of her career. But it’s weird that they wouldn’t want Angelica to explore even more options – most notably, in America, where the market is quite large.

I want to break free

There was an interview where Angelica compared the way her parents raised her to that of her living inside a “glass palace” – where she’s living like royalty, and everyone can see here, but she cannot leave.

Appropriately, all she wants to do is break free. She wants to experience life outside of her walls, because she doesn’t see the situation she’s in as very healthy. Is there a potential big change right around the corner?

A matter of time

If we’re being real with ourselves, there seems to be an obvious outcome that all of this will lead to.

Granted, we cannot predict the future, but there seems to be a pattern here that is pointing in a certain direction. It seems like Angelica is on her way out – and that’s okay. She has said many times that she dreams of leaving her house, and we believe it’s only a matter of time that she follows these dreams

As thick as water

They say that there’s nothing quite as close as a bond between a parent and their child.

This emotional bond seems to be the deterrent in disguise in this story, because it’s preventing Angelica from doing what she wants to do. It seems that her primary reason for not doing it is to not upset her parents – and that means that she feels guilty. But is this a good reason for her not to follow her dreams?

Turning the tables

Here is the real question: Why aren’t Angelica’s parents just as empathetic towards her desires than she is towards theirs?

She doesn’t want to upset them, and therefore stays at home, but why aren’t they thinking about what Angelica wants? Do they even know that she wants to get out of town and experience the world? Has Angelica expressed how deep these desires are for her? Maybe if she did, they would begin to change their mind…

Scared of change?

The thing is, if Angelica really wanted to move out, she could. She certainly has made enough money, and Angelica’s parents wouldn’t be able to stop her if she left.

The real question is, how badly does Angelica want to leave? She says that she has dreams of moving on, but sometimes it’s easy to get stuck in your comfort zone. It’s possible that she’s scared of leaving her hometown, because it would mean that her life is changing drastically.

If this is true, and the real culprit behind her not leaving is that she’s nervous, then that’s totally understandable.

Being afraid of the unknown is a very real thing, and taking that plunge into the murky depths of life can be daunting, no matter how enthralling it might seem. In those moments, sometimes the only thing you have to do is take a leap of faith. For Angelica to make a real change in her life, this is precisely what she must do.

Embracing failure

It all comes down to this: The world is about taking chances, even when you know you might fail.

In fact, it’s even a good thing to fail because then you learn a thing or two about adversity. If Angelica ends up leaving, it’ll be simply for the sake of trying it out. It won’t be because it will guarantee her success. Her current success may add to better opportunities in America, but the main reason she should do it is simply because she wants to.!!!
