Christmas at the Luneta Park by Salome Carlos
Christmas is not Merry not for the clean-up workers of Luneta Park. Visitors spent their Christmas celebration with family and love ones at the park but leave a pile of trash covered the entire landmark.
Some families who chose to visit and have picnics in Luneta today were not allowed to stay by park guards due to the overwhelming amount of trash.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) South Manila office spearheaded the clean-up drive, which spanned across Roxas Boulevard.
Environment group Ecowaste Coalition expressed dismay on the post-Christmas day turnout, saying the amount of trash left by visitors mirror their disrespect towards the park.
“Kailan ba tayo magbabago?
