"TINUBONG"is a sweet native delicacy common in the Ilocos Region. It involves stuffing a mix of ground glutinous rice, young coconut, sugar, cheese and margarine inside a young bamboo or "tubong".Traditionally, a tinubong is cooked over charcoal. However, many have shifted to cooking using the oven.To eat the "tinubong",you must crack the bamboo in half in order to get the flesh inside.
