- It wasn’t December Avenue’s fault why the show at Fuente Osmeña was cancelled last Friday night. I don’t get the logic of some people blaming the band, really.

- An estimate of 1.5 million people joined the procession last Saturday. What a wonderful number. And to think the event was orderly and peaceful.

- Amazing. Rain was in the weather forecast but the clouds held the waters the best they could.

- They still amaze me, the people who drive their cars through Juana Osmeña St., on Sinulog Sunday. Brave hearts, they were.

- The no-backpack policy during the novena masses at the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño de Cebu was a pretty “okay” rule.

- I’m still not a fan of the killing of cellphone signals during the weekend. But it seems Cebuanos are getting used to it.

- Ear cuffs are such a thing now. Catriona Gray did Sinulog vendors a favor.

- AirAsia’s Red Hot Sinulog concert was the most orderly concert I’ve been to in a long, long while.

- KZ Tandingan and her band are performance beasts.

- It’s tough for Cebu bands and artists. When there’s a big event in Cebu, Manila acts headline. When there’s an event in Manila, Manila acts headline. I guess a Cebuano band that beat these odds is Urbandub. And they had to be based in Manila.

- I saw Karencitta during the grand parade.

- We need more concerts and parties next year. Tire the crowd out.

- Cebu Pop Music Festival will go on classic mode next year: 12 songs, three winners.

- Magic 92.3 and Monster Radio BT 105.9 are Cebu stations that consistently play local tracks.

- I’m happy for the businesses that made tons of money during the Sinulog.

- These Mondays should somehow be official rest days. But for now, party at your own risk.

- Stop demonizing millennials.

- I can’t believe I didn’t get to have lechon and puso over the weekend. Lechon is life.

- When running a political campaign, it’s better to use Facebook than large tarpaulins. You’ll reach your fan base directly. It’s an eco-friendly move, too.
