Our government works a lot to improve our economy, business owners employ different strategies to better serve their customers, and companies hire the best people in their workforce to please clients which all started at a young age because even elementary students try their very best just to get their teacher’s admiration and approval. These examples show that everyone is working towards a goal to improve something, to be able to give their best and to please their superiors to get acknowledged and applauded but there’s always something we get to overlook and that is giving our best to our Maker.
We all try to do our best to show other people what we can do but have we ever for a moment thought of doing and giving our best to the One who made us? To the One who gave us breath and enabled us to do the things we are capable to do simply because He loves to give and He joys in giving us the best in life. We are mere vessels of His infinite power and He deserves our best and the glory people give for the things He empowered us to do. Sometimes, we get so self-centered that we forget the fact that we are able not because of our own capacity but because there is Someone up above who enables us.
Achievements and admirations are two of the many things we all aspire to get from the people around us. After all, how good would life feel if we don’t get to be applauded just for even once? However, through all the things we get applauded for, may we with humility and gratitude never forget to acknowledge the Lord’s enablement behind it and to give all the glory back to Him because He alone deserves all the praise.
