Writing seem like a mysterious art even to those who practice it. To become a writer is relatively easy, but to become a best selling novelist maybe a difficult matter. Recently, someone introduce me to writing and I got really interested to try it out. Writing is hard in the beginning yet it’s something you can only learn by doing-just like riding a bicycle. There’s a theory that it takes 10,000 hours to master a certain skill and for me writing is like that. The more you write, the greater you sense how words should flow as they express thoughts, observations and feelings. You just have to keep writing until it becomes natural as walking.
I started reading a lot when I start writing. I seek out other writers who can help me. But I learn if it’s being criticize, I shouldn’t give up. I take their advice in my heart and mind and try to do better next time. Eventually, I get compliments.
If you really want to be a writer, doing some research on your topic will give you more ideas. Once you have an outline you’re happy with, start writing. Don’t feel bad if your first draft won’t be any good That’s alright. Just keep writing. Go back and revise, rewrite, add new, cut ones that don’t work. Maybe it will take ten drafts to get a good one but that perfectly fine. It’s a learning process. It’s all about quality and having fun. The empty page is waiting. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain. Just keep writing.
