Planet Earth Casts Its Shadow On The Moon

July 27, 2018- Many astrologers and stargazers around the world have had a glimpse of the incredible view of the longest total lunar eclipse in the 21st century as it took place for approximately 103 minutes or one hour and 43 minutes, shorter than the theoretical limit of a lunar eclipse which is one hour and forty-seven minutes.
The total lunar eclipse was completely seen over Eastern Africa, and Central Asia, its rising was visible over South America, Western Africa, and Europe, and its setting over was seen in Eastern Asia and Australia.
A total lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth passes between the Sun and the moon eventually covers the moon with its shadow. When this takes place, the moon may look red when in fact it is only illuminated by the light in the shadow of the Earth dubbing its nickname as the Blood Moon. The July 27 eclipse is the second that took place in 2018 following the one that occurred in January.
