The heart of true education has always been a priority of all educational institutions. The mandate of developing learners holistically has become a part of every vision, mission and goal. Every teacher instilled in their minds that in all of their objectives, students must develop different knowledge, skills and values that they will be able to use all throughout their lives. People from all walks of life believe that teachers carry the most noble and heaviest responsibility of molding the learners of who they will become in the future.   

However, true education will not only be achieved with the strength of the teachers alone. Nowadays, it seems that most of the students receive various learning instructions from different sources. They receive instructions from home, from church, from their environment, and from the social media. It only means that teacher and school is no longer the sole source of knowledge, skills and values. Moreover, students sometimes even question school’s or teachers’ instruction towards them or worst they no longer listen to it or take it seriously.

According to the African proverb “It takes a village to raise a child”. Therefore, whenever a child fails to become the best version of him is not just probably because school or teachers had probably lack the guidance and didn’t give enough skills and knowledge but it’s also because of other factors around him. It could be their church, their environment, the government, the social media, or even their home. True education doesn’t only come from school, it surely comes everywhere.
