What If You Just Came Second? Is That A Bad Thing?

In most competitions, winning is the goal. But what if you just got the second place? Is that really a bad thing? Because when we speak of winning, it means being ahead of others, being on top, and being the first.  Those who got the first place in every contest earn the most attention and applause from the crowd during the awarding. The president who won after an election is more remembered by the crowd than the one who ranked second in term of votes. The one who finished the marathon first receives more praises than the one who just came second.

Well, if you end up being the second placer because you did not gave your best, that is not acceptable and that is really not a good thing. However, when you have given your all-body, heart, mind and soul to compete well and win yet you failed, you are not in the losing side. When you've hurdled enough, run with all your strength and fought with all your might, you have nothing to worry and remorse about being second.

Whatever competition you are about to join and have been preparing for, you should endeavor to win. That must be your goal and do the best you can so you can achieve it. But when your best is not just enough to grab the first place, and just came second, do not lose the attitude, still be thankful and receive your prize with your head held high and with a positive insight. Because you’re "being second" is not bad if it is your best.
