Attention : Our Children Needs It Most

All children love attention from the people around them. They basically need attention and nothing is more amusing for them especially at ages 0-3 years old than human faces. When my child was younger, she had much shorter tolerance whenever she was put down. I believe that the first 3 months was the hardest because she was just adjusting to the world around her. So carrying her when she asked for it was the best solution to make her feel safe, welcome and loved.

Giving attention to our kids more often is highly recommended to parents. Instead of giving them gadgets to play with, talk to them and play with them more often. We may not avoid at times that we may need to become impatient and we raise voice, it is normal. However, I suggest not to baby talk with our children. A simple attention from us will lighten their mood and will improve their social skills.

No matter how busy we are with household chores or how tired we are from work, we need to allot time for our kids. We need to realize that we have to pause and wait for our children to respond because the speed of their brain is slower than adults. Hence, give them more time. And you’ll be surprised how eager they are to communicate. Our attention as parents really matters a lot so let us give it to them.
