Burning Fats or Burning Yourself Out?



As the world’s definition of being healthy has now changed to becoming sexy, more people are now getting conscious in maintaining a certain body figure to the point of pushing themselves to their limits- exercising, working out, burning fats day and night.
To some, exercise is just part of a daily routine in achieving a healthy lifestyle, while others have become obsessed to it that they spent much time in fitness gyms.
Exercise and work out are beneficial to the human body, however, too much of it can cause adverse effects. When a person exercises too much, he becomes an exercise addict which is harmful. If exercise is too much, the body starts starving and releases a hormone called cortisol. Increased cortisol eats the body’s own muscles mass and the body starts eating itself.
Other than that, when exercise is overdone, the body becomes vulnerable to injuries. Exercising a lot may lead to strained ligaments and joints. This put the bones at risk of fractures. Too much exercise can also damage body tissues. Moreover, extreme exercise weakens the immune system allowing it to become prone to viruses and colds, not sufficient enough to counter bacteria and other illnesses.
People who exercise excessively who just have weight loss in mind are prone to develop eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia due to exercise obsession. Aside from eating disorders, sleeping disorders may develop. After exhaustive exercise, the body feels very tired, lethargic and drained out. Everything seems heightened and the body pains because of excessive exercise.
Exercise for good health and well-being, not for a beautiful figure. Choose reasonable goals and exercise programs. Effects of exercise can be detrimental if overdone.
