She asked Her, 'How much are you selling the Saba for?'
The Old seller replied, 1 Peso per banana, Madam.'
She said to her, 'I will take 6 banana for 25 cents each or I will leave.'
The old seller replied, 'Come take them at the price you want. Maybe, this is a good beginning because I have not been able to sell even a single banana today.'
She took the bananas and walked away feeling she has won. She got into her fancy car and went to a 1st class restaurant with her friend. There, she and her friend, ordered whatever they liked. They ate a little and left a lot of what they ordered. Then she went to pay the bill. The bill costed her 1,200 pesos. She gave 1500 pesos and asked the owner of the restaurant to keep the change.
This incident might have seemed quite normal to the owner but, very painful to the poor saba seller.
The point is,
Why do we always show we have the power when we buy from the needy ones? And why do we get generous to those who do not even need our generosity?
I once read somewhere:
'My father used to buy simple goods from poor people at high prices, even though he did not need them. Sometimes he even used to pay extra for them. I got concerned by this act and asked him why does he do so? Then my father replied, "It is a charity wrapped with dignity, my child”
I know most of you won't share this message but if you feel that people need to see this, then do spread this message.

ReplyDeleteI REMEMBER ONE OF THE ELDERS PASSES BY TO BUY ALL THE VEGGIES I HAVE FOR HALF GRADE III PAPER PAD. I LEARNT HER DAUGHTER WAS MY CLASSMATE WHO STOLE NY GRADE III PAPER PAD. I WROTE MY NAME ON EACH PAPER SO FINELY THAT ITS MY PAPER. NEXT DAY I SAW MY PAPER WITH CUTTINGS ON THE SIDE WHERE I WROTE MY NAME. I TOLD MISS M.P.G. THAT PAPER WAS MINE AND I BOUGHT IT WITH MY OWN MONEY. SHE WENT HOME AND TOLD HER MOTHER A LIE THAT I STOLE HER PAPER AND WAS ANGRY WITH ME.
I REPORTED IT TO MY PAPA FRED AND HE EXTEND IT TO MY LOLO DORING. JUST A WEEK AFTER, THEY WERE ADVISED TO LEAVE FROM MY GRANDFATHER'S LAND.... IF SHE HAPPEN TO READ THIS POST.... SHE WILL REMEMBER ME WELL. LIFE STORY MAY NOT BE THE SAME BUT THE LESSONS LEARN SHOULD IT BRING...
sharing is also a way of love to others especially to the less fortunate one...you dont have to voice it out so everybody will know...share,share,share...
