Vogue features El Nido as pristine paradise escape for Supermodel Eliana Gil Rodriguez

Supermodel and fashion designer Eliana Gil Rodriguez was in El Nido Resorts in Palawan to celebrate her birthday – and her pictures were published by Vogue which featured her vacation as a “Pristine Paradise Escape.”

The Vogue article feature described how Rodriguez chose to be in Palawan – voted one of the top 3 islands in the world – on her birthday in December. “Turned 29 in heaven,” wrote Rodriguez on her Instagram.

The founder of Gil Rodriguez fashion line also posted on her Instagram how she admired the El Nido’s Miniloc Island for being a “pristine protected paradise. I haven’t seen one piece of single use plastic since I got here which is a huge turn on.”

The model told Vogue, “We really wanted to relax and do something cut-off” after her first-ever pop-up event in Manila. Rodriguez was in the Philippines with her boyfriend Patrick Greenaway and together the pair “snorkeled above vibrant coral reefs, hiked through the rainforest, and kayaked to nearby lagoons and islands—all the while making sure to squeeze in daily massages. ‘It was very Swiss Family Robinson. Everything felt shipwrecked—in a good way,’ said Rodriguez of her Philippine island vacation.

Palawan, specifically El Nido Resorts, has been a favorite of international celebrities coming to the Philippines, including Vikings’ Katheryn Winnick who fell in love with Palawan and Iloilo in 2018, and Ant Man and The Wasp heroine Evangeline Lily who still fondly remembers her time in Palawan.
